NCLB mandates that all students receive scientific, research-based reading instruction. IDEA 2004 mandates states to ensure that special education eligibility is not the result of a lack of exposure to scientific, research-based instruction and data-driven interventions.
To comply, many states are embracing the response to intervention (RTI) framework through a multiple-tiered reading model. As a result, the roles and responsibilities of virtually everyone involved in education may need to undergo “course corrections” as RTI is implemented.
This 90-minute, recorded audio conference focuses on the key factors you should consider as your school and district move to implement RTI via a multi-tiered intervention model.
You and your staff will learn how to:
- Determine and enhance the effectiveness of the comprehensive core reading program
- Establish the criteria to be used to move students forward or backward through the intervention tiers
- Maximize the effectiveness of the interventions
- Encourage and facilitate stakeholder “buy-in”
- Determine the overall effectiveness of the RTI framework at the district or school level
