IDEA changes regarding the discipline of students with disabilities will be also discussed, including the impact of these changes on administrator decisions related to discipline. Additionally, an overview of behavioral intervention plans will be presented, and an explanation of how BIPs relate to discipline.

Learning Outcomes
- After successfully completing this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the relationship between federal law, district policy and classroom rules as they relate to student discipline.
- Recognize potential problems with school and classroom rules that may violate district policy or federal law.
- Use appropriate measures in responding to disciplinary referrals of students with disabilities.
- Explain what is and is not left to local discretion, when it comes to behavioral intervention plans.
- Complete chapter assessments with 100 percent mastery and the final assessment with 80 percent mastery.
