This course is designed to explore the need for and requirements of the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities, factors to consider when determining the most appropriate placement and how to measure success when an LRE decision is made.
The course also explores issues and barriers that impact the placement of a student in the least restrictive environment and how districts can develop a school wide commitment to serve all students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment.
