This course is designed to explain the process of data collection in the response to intervention system through the elements of collection, analysis and interpretation. This course examines the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations governing the provision of early intervention services (EIS) to children under the age of 3, and the provision of services to students aged 3 through 5. Providing students who do not respond to instruction with increasingly intensive levels of intervention is not a new concept in education -- but in the NCLB era, demonstrating effectiveness is even more important.
